Important Medical Disclaimer

The information provided on this website and during consultations is for educational purposes only and is not intended as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any treatment program.

General Treatment Disclaimer

West Lake Body Sculpting provides cosmetic and aesthetic treatments that are elective procedures. While we strive for optimal results, individual outcomes may vary significantly based on factors including but not limited to age, skin type, medical history, lifestyle, adherence to pre/post-care instructions, and individual healing response.

Results Not Guaranteed

No treatment results are guaranteed. Photos, testimonials, and statistical data represent individual experiences and should not be considered typical results. Results will vary from person to person. Multiple treatments are typically required to achieve desired outcomes, and maintenance treatments may be necessary to sustain results.

Laser Hair Removal Disclaimer

Laser hair removal typically requires 6-9 treatments for optimal results, with an average 95% reduction in unwanted hair. However, individual results vary based on hair color, skin type, hormonal factors, and treatment area. Complete permanent hair removal cannot be guaranteed. Some clients may require additional treatments or periodic maintenance sessions. Laser treatments may not be effective on white, gray, or very light blonde hair.

Laser Treatment Contraindications

Laser treatments are not suitable for everyone. Please inform us if you have any of the following conditions:

• Pregnancy or nursing
• Active infections or open wounds in treatment area
• History of keloid scarring
• Recent sun exposure or tanning
• Use of photosensitizing medications
• Autoimmune disorders
• Active cancer or history of skin cancer in treatment area

Body Sculpting and Ultrasound Cavitation Disclaimer

Non-invasive body sculpting, ultrasound cavitation, and radio frequency treatments are designed to reduce localized fat deposits and improve skin tightness. These treatments are not weight loss solutions and are most effective when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Results typically appear gradually over several weeks to months following treatment completion.

Botox and Injectable Disclaimer

Botox and other injectable treatments carry inherent risks including bruising, swelling, asymmetry, and rare but serious complications. Results are temporary, typically lasting 3-6 months. Individual metabolism and muscle activity affect duration of results. Botox is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women or those with certain neurological conditions.

Potential Risks and Side Effects

All cosmetic treatments carry potential risks and side effects, which may include but are not limited to:

• Temporary redness, swelling, or irritation
• Bruising or discoloration
• Changes in skin pigmentation (hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation)
• Scarring (rare)
• Burns or blistering (rare)
• Allergic reactions
• Infection
• Unsatisfactory cosmetic results

When to Seek Medical Attention

Contact us immediately or seek medical attention if you experience:

• Severe pain or discomfort
• Signs of infection (fever, excessive redness, pus)
• Severe allergic reactions
• Unexpected changes in treated area
• Any concerning symptoms following treatment

Pre-Treatment Preparation

Proper preparation is essential for treatment safety and effectiveness. Failure to follow pre-treatment instructions may result in postponement of treatment, reduced effectiveness, or increased risk of complications. Instructions may include avoiding sun exposure, discontinuing certain medications, or avoiding specific skincare products.

Post-Treatment Care

Following post-treatment care instructions is crucial for optimal healing and results. Failure to adhere to post-care guidelines may result in complications, poor healing, or suboptimal results. Post-care instructions will be provided verbally and in writing following each treatment.

Medical History Disclosure

You are required to provide accurate and complete medical history information. Withholding relevant medical information may compromise treatment safety and effectiveness. Please inform us of any changes to your health status, medications, or medical conditions between treatments.

Alternative Treatments

Alternative treatment options may exist for your concerns. We encourage you to research all available options and consult with multiple providers if desired. Our recommendations are based on our experience and training but should not be considered the only treatment approach.

Treatment Limitations

Our treatments have limitations and may not be suitable for all skin types, medical conditions, or individual goals. Some conditions may require medical treatment by a physician rather than cosmetic intervention. We reserve the right to decline treatment or refer you to appropriate medical professionals when necessary.

Equipment and Technology Disclaimer

We use FDA-approved or FDA-cleared devices when available. However, some treatments may utilize devices that are not specifically FDA-approved for all applications. The safety and effectiveness of off-label use is based on clinical experience and published studies but may carry additional risks.

Photography and Documentation

Before and after photos may be taken for medical records and treatment documentation. These photos become part of your medical record and will be maintained confidentially. Separate consent is required for any marketing or educational use of photographs.

Acknowledgment of Risk

By receiving treatment at West Lake Body Sculpting, you acknowledge that you have been informed of potential risks, benefits, and limitations of treatment. You understand that no guarantee of results has been made, and you accept responsibility for your decision to proceed with treatment.

Emergency Procedures

In the unlikely event of a medical emergency during treatment, we will provide immediate first aid and contact emergency medical services as appropriate. Please ensure we have current emergency contact information and are aware of any medical conditions that might affect emergency treatment.

Continuing Education and Training

Our staff maintains current certification and training in the treatments we provide. However, cosmetic treatments involve both art and science, and individual technique and experience may affect outcomes. We are committed to ongoing education and improving our skills and knowledge.

Regulatory Compliance

We operate in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing our services. However, the cosmetic industry is subject to changing regulations, and new safety information may emerge that affects our practices and recommendations.

Disclaimer of Warranties

West Lake Body Sculpting makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding treatment outcomes. We disclaim any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our liability is limited to the cost of treatment provided.
